For the first season of Love Island South Africa, my prediction is a White couple is going to win. 😂

Seriously, it is very difficult to predict anything about the show. The basic format remains the same but they change the details every season. Simple things, such as the order the guys enter during the first episode, have a large impact on the trajectory of the story.

Regardless of the many unpredictable factors, these are my predictions for the first coupling:

• Asad and Erin
• Durang and Thimna
• Ian and Summer
• Jay and Rochelle
• Kaige and Millie

For this season of Love Island South Africa, I used the descriptions of the islanders on the M-Net website. In the video below, I thoroughly explained the reasoning behind my predictions.

OG Couple In the Finale

– Asad and Erin.

I think they’re both looking for love and it would be great to see people of color in the finale.

OG Islander To Win

– Ian + a bombshell

They’re promoting him as the charming Afrikaans boy, so I’m thinking he can win over the voters.

1st Couple Dumped

– Jay and Rochelle

I don’t think either of them are very compatible with anyone in the villa.

1st Guy and Girl Dumped (individually)

– Durang and Summer

Durang seems like a player. The player is usually the first villian. Summer may not get much screentime. The crowd’s lack of attachment to her may lead to a dumping.

Alphas

– Ian and Rochelle

Ian maybe the most desired guy amoung the girls, which puts him in a good position as alpha. Rochelle has been marketed as a Demi Moore lookalike. If the islanders recognize her beauty, then she may be the alpha.

Betas

– Jay and Summer

They both come across as good friends because their descriptions gave the impression of easy-going.

I made these predictions for fun. There is no science behind them. I tried to include some logic.

We have less information to use this year because the Love Island South Africa marketing team released the cast information on the premiere day. There was no time to assess the main cast members’ social media growth before the show started. Since I couldn’t numerically assess each islander’s popularity with the public, my predictions are very subjective.
