R. I. P. Angeles Vidal, Gangster

Angeles deserves this tribute post because I cried during her death scene and she was a great friend and mother in «Cable Girls.»  She was living evidence that «you do not have to be a good girl to be a good person.» [Elizabeth Gilbert]

  • Angeles defeated her abusive husband and won a loving boyfriend.
  • Angeles was a loyal friend and ferocious mother.
  • Angeles was also Mirlo, a dangerous criminal, who empowered women through education at the telephone company.

She had to stack paper for her daughter and build a legacy for her family.  Angeles was a good woman. She was Mirlo, Mama, and Angeles, a woman of many names.  She ran from gunfire and had an underground business that the best minds in 1930s Spain criminal investigation could not crack.  Angeles killed and seduced. She loved and learned how to stay free by any means. Thank you, Angeles. Rest in peace.
